Fellow Members,
Your vote is needed once again as we are proposing a change to Article V- Financial Review, Section A, Sentence #2.
Our current by-laws requires us to conduct a full audit by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) every two years. We found out that this is not a National ASTD requirement. Therefore, the board proposes that Article V- Financial Review, Section A, Sentence #2 be removed (‘A full audit conducted by a certified public accountant is mandated every two (2) years, and may be undertaken more frequently if circumstances dictate.’) The remaining portions of the section will stay in place.
In the past, it has been difficult to find an accountant willing to conduct such a financial audit, and when one can be located, the fee could be up to $10,000 – money that can be better used for member benefits. We will work with the Financial Review Committee to examine our financial records and provide a financial update to you.
Please take a moment to place your vote HERE no later than November 8, 2011. You can read the Current By-Laws below by clicking on the link to read the entire document.
Thank you for your time and participating in this essential chapter function. If you have questions about this process, please contact president@cfc-astd.org.
