Volunteering some of your time and expertise is a way of giving back to your profession while helping the chapter grow and betters serve the needs of its members. In addition to gaining valuable visibility and networking, your efforts as a volunteer can teach valuable skills (e.g. interpersonal communication, project and time management, team building, supervision, business acumen, budgeting and others) that can easily transfer to other aspects of your personal and professional life.
